The Sumbal Alphabet Tapestry is a traditional crewel wool wall hanging, designed to become the focal point of a thoughtfully curated nursery or child’s bedroom.

How it’s Made
Designed in England and embroidered in the Valley of Kashmir using centuries-old crewel techniques.
- The design is hand-transferred onto cotton canvas using a traditional pin-prick method.
- Wool yarn is dyed in bespoke palettes using azo-free dyes.
- Each piece is embroidered at home by skilled artisans, using traditional tools and techniques passed down through generations.
- The finished tapestry is hand-washed and sun-dried before final inspection.
Production is intentionally slow and small-scale, allowing artisans to work flexibly around family life.
